Busy Busy

I can't believe this weather. It is invigorating. If you know me at all, you probably know this is my favorite time of year. When you can just start to "smell the cold"...before it is harsh or icky....just the first sign of pretty weather. When you just want to sit on your porch at night and drink coffee in the rockin' chair....that is of course if you don't live in the 'hood like I do. I can't currently let my little ones play in the front yard because the people across the street constantly scream obscenities at each other all hours of the day...in their front yard. These are the same people that let children younger (older ones too) than Pumpkin play in the street after dark. I don't mean at dusk, mind you. It is 10 pm as I write this and they are all squealing in the street...running their Little Tikes car up and down the road...pushing each other on the battery powered four wheeler that has apparently quit running on its battery. Shouldn't there be a law that just says you can't be a bad parent? Ugh. So hard not to be judgmental when you live here day in and day out. I try hard to follow all my complaints about how much I absolutely hate living here with some sort of comment about being thankful for a roof over our heads. And I truly am thankful for this house. Many people don't have one right now. I have so much to be thankful for. But that doesn't mean I'm not focused on doing whatever it takes to get out of here ASAP. I just hope we can sell eventually. God has His timing for us, I'm just hoping he can renew my strength soon or give us wings to get on outta here! I want my sweet girls to run freely in the backyard and play...enjoy being outside. Isn't that why we live in FL anyway? To enjoy outside year 'round? Enough about my soap box...but geez.
Seems like my weekend flew by. We did actually make it to church...Pumpkin's cough was better so no nursery guilt. However, this morning it reappeared seemingly worse, I think now that it might be allergies and somewhat weather related. But it sounds terrible. And little miss Cupcake decided today that she really didn't need to be cooperative and take good naps. In fact, she really didn't need to be alone at all, she'd just let me hold her ALL DAY. So needless to say I got NOTHING done today. I am hoping tomorrow is a more productive situation. And Hubby said he doesn't have to work tomorrow night now so this is our last one for a bit. Whew. That's at the top of the prayers too...7-3:30 sounds better and better. We have such a busy schedule and it always seems so much more bearable knowing he'll be with me. Isn't that sweet? hehe. It's true, though.
So I got the invites done. Well, I guess you can say done. I threw perfectionism to the wind and mailed them off. I didn't even invite everyone via mail. I just sent them to the CHILDREN invited. Still think I forgot someone. It will hit me I'm sure. Mashed potato brain is definitely visiting me these days. Anyway they turned out pretty cute, but not as perfect as I would've liked. And they aren't as detailed as usual and don't have multiple layers or pictures or whatever. Oh well. Nonetheless they get the job done. I decided not to wait so long for Cupcake's. Time is so much more limited now that there's two of them!
I still have Christmas Cards, thank you cards, and family pics to go by the end of the year. Not to mention the holiday busy schedule.
We decided to keep things really simple with my side of the family this year. We drew names and then everyone will buy for the kids. Hubby's family cut back quite a bit last year...his entire extended family use to buy gifts for each other. So now it's all about the kids. And then we still exchange with his sister and her family and his parents. I've still got quite a bit of shopping left, though. I haven't procrastinated this much in I don't know when. I do have ideas, but not really many purchases. Right now I'm coordinating Pumpkin's gifts for her bday and Christmas. Guess it depends on ship dates which one she'll get at the two celebrations. I think I'll get on that right away. ....more details on that later.
Here's to a good week!

Ugh - sorry about your neighborhood. Sounds pretty bad.

And if you're even thinking about Christmas gifts at this point of the year, you are so far ahead of where I am! Good for you!
