Updates-bullet style

Hello Blog world!
So I have finally gotten around to the blogger dashboard again. Honestly, it wasn't to tend to my blog, but to the ones I've become addicted to lately. Believe it or not, I've been reading everything from an Organization blog (no comments from the peanut gallery here...) to methods of "couponing" to raising a large family. And to tell you the truth, I can't get enough! Which is one of the many reasons why I haven't attempted to deal with my own blog.

As always, life is ever-changing. My girls are growing so quickly that I don't have time to both enjoy it and document it, especially not while maintaining a home and contributing to all of our other commitments. So, with that said, I don't have many pictures around here lately. However, I plan to get back in gear and get some pics together soon to share for those out-of-town family members. Since I don't think anyone would continue to read if I decided to bore you to death with my daily happenings...here are the latest "big things" in somewhat of a bullet form:

  • I've decided to join the coupon frenzy. Yep, that's right. I am that girl in front of you at the checkout that takes 5 extra minutes of your time in order to save a ton of money and make you (if you are anything like I was) wonder how in the WORLD people actually get away with cheating the system like that. I'm sure there will be a blog in the near future to explain this and other important details of my newfound hobby. But for now, just know I am a money-saving queen!
  • I am headed out for an "Extreme Makeover"...4 times postpartum edition. Folks, you heard it here first. I am sick and tired of the flab, lack of energy, etc. I have consulted a friend (who, in turn, consulted her "diet guru" hubby) to help put together a workout routine that will show me some results. I'll let you know how that's going along the way.
  • We are in a long "goodbye" streak around here. Today we watched our oldest say goodbye to her bestest friend (at the ripe old age of 4) who is moving to what feels like the other side of the world from us. Brings back sad memories of my favorite friend moving when I was young...hoping they will learn to write sweet notes back and forth! And, in a few weeks, a dear friend of mine will be heading to what feels like a million miles away...upon her husband's return from deployment. We've only known them through our church for such a short time ( a couple years) and only grown close over the past year. Seems too soon to pack up and leave. They will be sorely missed, but as my sweet cousin reminded me tonight, God placed them here for this season in my life for a reason. And I've got to tell you, I'm thinking of several reasons off the top of my head. Oh, to think I could impact one person the way C. has impacted me. Awesome.
  • We are still prayerfully considering a lot of big decisions for our family. It seems as if this season in our life is an especially trying time, which means it is also an exceptional time for growth. Spiritual growth, emotional growth, and our growth as a couple and a family. We have a lot to be thankful for, and much to be in prayer about. If you run out of things to pray for on your own, feel free to add a few for our family and our decision making. Prayers are always welcomed! Hee hee.
  • As a result of all the organization blogs I have been reading, I am decluttering! What an awesome time to repurpose, donate, etc. It is rather freeing to tackle these projects. So far I have organized the closet in the "big girls" room (they share, making space an issue!), started repurposing and rearranging in Peanut's room, and redecorated the living room. I am almost finished painting the living room also, then I will be moving on to fixing a paint-job-gone-wrong in my bedroom.
  • Lastly, I started chore lists for the oldest two. Pumpkin (the oldest) has several (4 I think) daily chores and then about 3 weekly chores. If all are complete, we are awarding $0.25 per chore to total $1.25/wk. Then Cupcake hasn't quite figured it out yet, but I just gave her about $0.75/wk worth of silly tasks to get her started with the concept. So far, so good. I'm sure there will be more on that in the days to come, provided that it doesn't die out before I get back around to blogging again!
So, sorry about the looooong post. I'm making an effort to get all areas of my life reorganized and more scheduled (it works with some decisions we are making!) and hopefully it will help me be a more consistent blogger. Good therapy, I think, all this talking to myself. Here's to you finding your own therapy too!

----Ashley
