Just because....

Cupcake is asleep and Pumpkin is in the living room pretending to nap. Hubby of course, has nights starting tonight again and so he's in bed too. Do you hear that? Quiet. Ahhhh. Had a few good days...and then awake to a not so good one. Just feel blah. Absolutely NO ENERGY. So I am being lazy and searching the net for stuff I need for the baby..trying to find good prices on stuff I just sold a few months ago...grrrr.
Went to the Dr. yesterday....heartbeat sure sounds fast. For those of you who don't know the wives' tale....fast heartbeats=girls. Obviously it isn't accurate 100% but of all the tales...the Drs. actually seem to semi-believe it is a more faithfully true trend. I know Pumpkin's was undeniably fast...like 178....Cupcake's was a little slower....still about 150-160 and I don't know if the knotted and twice wrapped cord had anything to do with it being slower...it sure decreased it at delivery!!!! My friend has two boys and theirs were both around 140. Hmmmm. I have a sneaking girl suspicion...and even Pumpkin has been talking to Cupcake (not cupcake, but the IRL name we chose) in my belly lately.  We truly don't care...and since we weren't "trying" to conceive in the first place....you can tell we were truly satisfied having only girls. A boy would definitely throw a curve in things...but we'll be thrilled to buy more bows too. So we'll just have to wait and see. Not too much longer...March 23rd.
I am enjoying watching my girls these days as they start to learn to play together. Especially when they laugh at each other....how great is that? It's musical...honestly. Even Hubby who can sometimes fail to dote over them the way I do commented yesterday about how much fun it is to just sit and eavesdrop on the two gigglers. Pumpkin is growing up so fast...it amazes me how different she is even since Cupcake arrived. She is no longer a baby. Really not even what I would categorize as a toddler. She is really a pre-schooler. Sad but true. But she's so much fun even still. We never know what clever comment will emerge from those little perfect lips!!! My mom was apparently "badgering" her on their date the other night about the baby...on this particular day the gospel according to Pumpkin was that we were having a sister. She said her name was "Peanut" (again, she said her IRL -in real life- name) and mom began to quiz her on middle names(which we still don't have)...throwing a few suggestions her way. Pumpkin apparently was fed up, and told Mom "No more questions."....To which Mom responded with...well, is her middle name gonna be ***?Insert name**** Pumpkin said, "No, I told you no more questions". Hmm. Okay then. Next subject please????

As for Cupcake...many developments have recently emerged. She's crawling officially now...instead of whatever you'd call her previous way of managing to get where she wanted....But shhh! Don't tell her Sunday morning nursery workers!!! As long as she's still a non-crawler she doesn't get promoted to the Crawlers class. We really love her current nursery teacher(s) and it is obviously very mutual. Ms. Paulette rushes to the door at the very sight of her each Sunday. She has personally told me that it's fine if Cupcake "never crawls"...if you know what I mean. And since we feel so comfortable with her....and Cupcake isn't adapting well to new people at the moment....well. You know. Maybe by her 1st birthday she can skip straight to the 1 yr. old walking room? Who knows. She has learned to pull herself up on the ottoman and walk up and down it...although she doesn't get the proper falling stance yet.
She has also learned to scream...and squeal..and other such noises that don't really have a name. I actually recorded it on the voice record on my cell yesterday and sent it to Mom and Hubby. Too funny. The thing is, she could be squealing with delight or just screaming/yelling just to do it. She's not upset....it's merely entertainment. She has also decided to ham it up at picture time.
Following her favorite breakfast, Daddy's grits, a bath was absolutely necessary to "de-grit" her hair, ears, nose...you get the idea. So after we are all nice and clean...both girls clothed for the day and Pumpkin's hair braided, hubby decided that PBJs would be great for lunch. That was fine, as he served Pumpkin's picnic style in the living room...until Cupcake wanted some of it. After she dove into Pumpkin's plate...I told Hubby he'd better fix a mini-not-so-drippy version for Petunia Pig. So after donning her totally useless bib, I cut her sandwich in miniature bites and let her have it. The freshly washed beautifully fluffy hair was quickly styled with strawberry hair gel and peanut butter pomade. I got the camera...couldn't resist. She was literally past her elbows in the stuff. We won't even talk about the back of her head. I am truly convinced she is the messiest baby in America. Pumpkin was always a clean eater...at this age bibs were almost obsolete. As I got the camera ready....Cupcake decided to ham it up and tilt her head oh-so-pretty and smile....geez. Then the arms soon followed, completing her newly found love of posing! Oh, the animation. The funniest part is how it all seems to revolve around food. Ask her if she wants some grits...she'lll usually bounce with excitement. What's next.....or should I ask???
Well, now that I have bored you all with the ins and outs of what I think are exciting happenings around our daily lives....I think I'll try to go check the dryer. Which means I have to actually get up. Pray I make it back to the computer one day soon! Until then, have a great day...or week....well, you know...
